Here is a wooden tissue box, laser etched with the y-weave pattern that I currently enjoy using. It is laser cut out of birch plywood, then stained in golden oak with a matte finish. With this box, one can insert a roll of toilet paper and then dispense it through the top opening. For those who may want to use toilet paper for other purposes besides in the bathroom, it is more appealing when the roll is placed inside this box dispenser. While this current design is side-loading, future designs may be top-loading instead.
After seeing the laser cutting done for Creme Caramel LA on rice paper for a cake display, my friend requested artwork based on the Asian inspired pattern that was used. I decided to laser etch the pattern on a 10″x10″ wood panel, then paint it with red and gold. Apparently her coworkers were complaining that her new office walls are empty, so hopefully she finds a good spot for this and the red brings her good luck.
Custom wood pendant based on the Chinese character 芸. The design was an attempt to “hide” the character in a pattern to make it look more interesting than just the character itself. Laser cut out of walnut wood and measures about 2″x1.3″.
